The CDA cohorts are now available for all early childhood educations in the Gulf Coast region who hold Texas Rising Star and Entry Level Designate status. The program offers two cohorts: Infant-Toddler and Preschool. Registration is first-come, first-served basis. Mentors must visit each program at least once a month. A visit can be a virtual interaction or in person. Mentors must make in person visits at least once a quarter. Mentors are responsible for regular visits (physical and virtual), providing professional development opportunities, coaching and modeling, offering additional resources, and acting as mandated reporters, if necessary. All Child Care Services (CCS) regulated providers are now required to participate in Texas Rising Star. New CCS providers and current CCS providers who are not Texas Rising Star certified must achieve two-star certification by September 30, 2024.
